HOPE for Cancer Produce Prescription Program

Food is powerful medicine, and that’s why we’re so excited about The HOPE for Cancer Produce Prescription Program. A program that nourishes patients and families with fresh, seasonal produce — bringing healing and support right to their homes.

About the Program

The HOPE for Cancer Produce Prescription Program connects low-access, low-income oncology patients with weekly bags of fresh fruits, vegetables, and wholesome ingredients — along with recipes and cooking support to make healthy eating easier during treatment and recovery.

We believe that everyone deserves access to nourishing food, especially when facing cancer. By combining nutrition education with real-world access to produce, we help patients feel supported, empowered, and cared for.

Why it Matters…

  • Nutrition supports healing — Eating well can improve strength, energy, and overall well-being during treatment.
  • Access isn’t always easy — Many families face barriers to finding or affording fresh, healthy foods.
  • Community builds hope — Healthy food is more than fuel — it’s a message of care and connection.

How It Works

  • Patients are referred by healthcare providers, or social workers, and must qualify to be enrolled.
  • Participants receive weekly produce bags filled with in-season fruits and vegetables.
  • Each bag includes easy recipes and nutrition tips.
  • Ongoing support helps patients build healthy habits and feel cared for during treatment.

Our Community Partners

We’re so thankful to be able to work with local farmers through this project. So far, we have partnered with one local farm, Growin’ “Local”L, nestled in Lonoke, AR. While they grow classics, their passion is growing unique and flavorful produce beyond what you’ll find in the grocery aisle.
